Josh Gates set out in search of the elusive cryptid known as the Yeti or the Abominable Snowman in Expedition Unknown: Hunt for the Yeti.
On his quest to find the legendary man-ape of the Himalayas he meets with world-renowned researchers and daring explorers. Gates follows up on credible accounts and recent Yeti sightings and even gains access to ancient artifacts. Many people over the years have set out in search of the creature but this one has been called the mother of all hunting expeditions. Gates conducted what many consider to be a very thorough search and the show contains some very interesting information.
If you missed your chance to watch Expedition Unknown: Hunt for the Yeti on the Travel Channel you can see the episode in its entirety here. Gates said of the show “The Yeti story is especially personal to me, if it’s even possible to get personal with an elusive hairy monster! There have been so many firsthand accounts of the Yeti, and several years ago I had my own encounter. I discovered an unusual set of footprints high in the Himalayas. It was an incredible and confounding find; we cast the print and donated it to the Yeti museum at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, where it’s now on display. The experience has never left me, and now I’m heading back into the mountains to determine what exactly left those tracks.”
