In the second episode of Small Town Monsters film series Casefiles, we get a look into the history of the Fouke Monster of Arkansas.
Sightings of the elusive cryptid inspired one of the more well-known horror movies of all time called The Legend of Boggy Creek. There have been Fouke Monster sightings dating back years although the creatures recent popularity started sometime in the 1970s. Reports describe the creature as being an extremely large man-like creature covered in long hair features which lead many to believe it is actually bigfoot. Over the years Fouke Monster evidence in the form of tracks some as large as 17 inches in length and claw marks have been recorded. New Fouke Monster sightings and encounters are still being reported today as the legend of the creature continues to gain more and more attention. The question as to whether or not the creature is actually Sasquatch continues as a topic of debate.
In part one of this two-part episode, we get a look at some of the lesser known Fouke Monster stories and run-ins with the mysterious creature. Over the years Boggy Creek Monster sightings have been the subject of various television shows and books making it somewhat of a local celebrity. The Secret History of the Boggy Creek Monster contains some very interesting interviews with locals who have encountered the elusive creature many consider to be the Arkansas bigfoot.
