It was 50 years ago today when Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin filmed what many believe to be Bigfoot at Bluff Creek in Northern California.
It is the most controversial piece of bigfoot footage ever captured and has been a topic of debate among believers and skeptics since 1967. Over the years the footage has made it way onto countless television shows and specials about the elusive cryptid. The 352 frames of footage have been analyzed over and over again but a number of experts in an effort to either prove its authenticity or that it was nothing more than a hoax. For many, it is one of most important bigfoot sightings in history!
“Patterson-Gimlin film Frame 352”
There are plenty of theories about the Patterson Gimlin bigfoot film that have poped up over time including claims by some that the creature is simply a man in a suit. And even though plenty have tried no one has yet been able to debunk the most famous of bigfoot videos. Both Patterson and Gimlin have maintained from day one that the footage they captured that day was of a living Sasquatch and not some person in a suit. The debate over whether or not the footage really captured a live bigfoot is sure to go on for many years to come along with the search for more even bigfoot evidence. Hopefully, we find the big guy sooner rather than later and prove once and for all that the elusive creature exists.
