The lake monster said to inhabit the water of Lake Champlain known as “Champ” is one of the more recognized and debated cryptids around the world.
Champ sightings have been reported for years and along with recently collected bits of evidence the number of believers is growing. A team formed and run by Katy Elizabeth called “Champ Search” continues to search for proof of Champ and have made great strides over the last couple of years. Champ sightings 2015 have been limited but the team has produced some very convincing proof that something unknown calls Lake Champlain home.
On July 31st of last year an expedition on the lake lead the team to recordings of Echolocation of an unknown animal in the lake. The only aquatic animals in the world known to use Echolocation for finding food, communicating, or navigation are whales and dolphins. Recordings of these sounds were also recorded back in 2002 along with 2014 neither of which can be explained. These Champ Echolocation recordings are very interesting.
“Katy Elizabeth searching for Champ“
The team led by Katy says its main goal is to protect these yet to be discovered creature they are certain call Lake Champlain home. Champ is protected by law in Vermont and New York and any harassment or violent acts against the creature are prohibited. As Katy and her team continue their fabulous work could this end up being the year that we finally have evidence of Champ?
Either way we would like to wish the best of luck and continued success to the entire Champ Search team and thanks for all of the exciting discoveries already made and shared with the cryptid world. You can check out the teams web site here.
