The United Kingdom much like other parts of the world has a long history of sightings and reports of strange and unknown creatures.
There have been many different kinds of cryptid sightings and encounters reported in the UK including the elusive creature known to many around the world as Bigfoot. The most famous of cryptids often referred to as bigfoot and sasquatch in various parts of the world is known as the wildman or woodwose in the UK. Descriptions of the UK Wildman or British Bigfoot seem to vary somewhat depending on location and the UK version is often described as being slightly more human sort of caveman-like and shorter than the popular giants of the United States according to the British Bigfoot Research Team.
The search for these hairy hominids stretches across the globe and has continued to become more and more popular over the years. The British Bigfoot Research Team or the UK’s BFRO tracks and records the sightings and reports from witnesses of not only the UK Wildman slash British Bigfoot but also other potential UK cryptids. Veteran British bigfoot researcher Deborah Hatswell and the team have put together a database of sightings and reports called the British Bigfoot sightings map. The map contains both historical and current reports and is loaded with tons of great information and links. You can check out the team’s facebook page HERE and also the map HERE.
The UK may not be the first place that comes to mind when it comes to bigfoot but as this database and map are proof of the area’s rich history. Whether it is the British bigfoot sightings, dogman sightings, werewolf sightings, or something else it’s clear that the UK is definitely worth keeping an eye on.
