Bigfoot sightings and reports have been happening for years now across the United States and Canada.
Whether called Bigfoot or Sasquatch or any of its other names it has been perhaps the most popular of all cryptids over the years. The legend of Bigfoot has grown through out the years drawing in plenty of believers and even more skeptics. Sightings of Bigfoot numbers in the thousands some of which are more interesting and contain more impressive pieces of possible evidence then others. Even though main stream science still considers these creatures to be nothing more then myths and legends the pure amount of sightings alone have many convinced that something is out there.
There are sightings of these cryptids going all the way back to 1921 and the numbers of total reports continues to grow. Using a database from the BFRO (Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization) a Penn St student named Joshua Stevens was able to convert these reports into a comprehensive map. This map of Bigfoot sightings from United States and Canada is great and shows locations where these creatures have been allegedly sighted up to 2013. You can see the distribution of all of these sightings and some area’s which the large cryptid is more likely to be seen according to previous reports.
The distribution of reports on the Bigfoot map can likely be somewhat attributed to many things like habitat and terrain. But if the legendary cryptid does exists then he is much more likely to be seen in the Pacific Northwest. Although Mr. Stevens admits there are some bias in the map as it contains reports dominated by reports from a US based database and some reporting limitations the map itself is a fairly good guide to showing where and how much the elusive creatures are said to be seen.
