There have been plenty of bigfoot sightings and encounters in Oklahoma over the years and many consider it to be somewhat of a bigfoot hotspot.
It offers some prime habitat and excellent geography that could keep a creature such as this elusive cryptid hidden. The various Oklahoma bigfoot sightings, reports, and possible bigfoot evidence found there have put it among the most likely locations to find the creature according to bigfoot expert and cryptozoologist Lyle Blackburn. In an interview with ABC News 8 in Tulsa, Oklahoma he said “I’ve been to the Ouachita (mountains) and researched over the years,” said Blackburn. “It’s one of those things that I think any minute now, there’s going to be some kind of proof or at least a better photo coming out of there. I think it’s a really good area.”
Blackburn has been researching the elusive cryptid and calls it one of the biggest ongoing mysteries in the world. But Blackburn is not the only one who thinks Oklahoma is a prime bigfoot location a group called the North American Wood Ape Conservancy which includes scientist and researchers that are dedicated to studying bigfoot does also. They published some scientific research on big foot all based out of Oklahoma which gathered some attention from in and around the bigfoot community. Blackburn said, “I put Oklahoma way at the top of the list of places that could truly be a habitat for an animal like this.”
